WILLIFORD SPRING

ABOUT WILLIFORD SPRING

Willford Springs is located in Econfina State Park and was often used by Native Americans who used the waterway for fishing and hunting. It’s a large, single vent which measures about 57 ft in diameter. It’s max depth is about 12 feet. The Northwest Florida Water Management has worked to restore Willford Springs by investing $1.52 million to improve water quality and the protection of the surrounding area. Willford Springs tends to attract swimmers and divers with their two caves accessible for exploring. The caves are adjacent; the right side being a bit smaller while the left side is slightly larger. At the opening of the cave, the depth is about 10 feet and the entire spring run is 443 feet.
