WEEKI WACHEE

ABOUT WEEKI WACHEE

Weeki Wachee was named by the Seminole Indians, and it translates to ‘Winding River.’ Each day over 117 million gallons of water is produced with a temperature of 74 degrees. Known for their iconic Mermaid Shows, this waterway has one of the deepest freshwater cave systems in the country, and the bottom has never been found!

There are areas within the spring that are sectioned off for swimming and include 4 spring fed water slides – the main spring does not permit swimming. The Mermaid Show can be viewed in their underwater theatre! Be sure to arrive early if you’d like to spend your day on the water or at the State Park, it tends to reach capacity early – especially in warmer months.
