ABOUT SILVER SPRINGS
Silver Springs became a popular tourist attraction back in 1820’s. In the late 1870’s a gentleman named Phillip Morrell added a piece of glass to the bottom of his rowboat and created magic for years to come. The next 100+ years would be filled with the phenomenon of ‘glassbottom boats’ and is still very popular to this day. 25 feet below the surface of Silver Springs, you’ll find two vents with a pretty strong outflow. Although there is no scuba diving allowed, you are welcome to explore the cavern. A vast cave system can be found at the second spring about 100 yards south of the headspring.
