PONCE DE LEON SPRINGS

ABOUT PONCE DE LEON SPRINGS

The state park has officially opened back up to the public on March 8, 2021. Please note this state park does often reach capacity, so try and arrive early! The waterway was named in honor of Juan Ponce De Leon who led the Spanish expedition in search of the infamous ‘Fountain of Youth.’ The crisp blue waters remain around 68 degrees all year long. The headspring is made up of two underground water flows that produce 14 million gallons of water every day. While there are no lifeguards on duty, the water tends to be mostly 3ft deep and has a drop off to about 25ft where snorkeling is allowed.
