ABOUT MERRITT’S MILL


Merritt’s Mill Pond is a gorgeous 202 acre spring fed body of water. It’s about 4 miles in length filled with crystal clear waters to explore. There are 6 springs within Merritt’s Mill pond that can be explored. Blue Springs, or “Jackson Blue”, is the main source for Merritt’s Mill Pond and it produces 76 million gallons of water a day.

The other notable springs within Merritt’s Mill are: Shangri La Spring, Twin Caves Spring, Hole In The Wall Spring, Gator Spring, Heidi Hole, and Lamars Landing.

Map Marker LOCATION: Off US 90 in Marianna by taking SR 71 north 1.1 miles to SR 164. Look for a sign that says “Blue Springs”

Clock HOURS: Blue Springs Recreation park, May 29th – August 8th: 7 days a week. Starting August 14th, the park will be open on weekends only through Labor Day.

Ticket ENTRY FEE: Through Blue Springs: $4 (Includes kayak/canoe launch fee)

Through Hunter Fish Camp: None

SPRINGS AT MERRITTS MILL POND

Along with Gator Hole, Merritt’s Mill Pond has 6 beautiful springs to explore. Gator Hole is about 6ft deep and extends back 200 plus feet.

This pond has been around since 1866 when a dam was built – as two years went by the dam was sold and expanded to the size of the waterway you see today.
