ICHETUCKNEE SPRINGS

ABOUT ICHETUCKNEE SPRINGS

The state park itself is 2,269 acres and has an abundance of wildlife – so be on the look out! It also features 8 major springs, with the upper portion of the park being a National Natural Landmark. This spring is said to be the clearest river in the state. Ichetucknee Springs is infamous for tubing and offers either a 1.5 hour or 3 hour tube run down the waterway. This spring has beautiful tree canopies surrounding the area which makes it a perfect spot for hanging out on a Summer day in Florida. If you’d like to explore the area by snorkeling, a wetsuit is required. This area also allows for certified scuba diving. The main headspring, with depths of 22 ft, has a large basin and is able to be explored by snorkeling.
