BLUE SPRINGS

ABOUT BLUE SPRINGS

Blue Spring is known for its manatee migration that runs in the winter months. Back in 1970 researchers were able to track at least 14 manatees within the run. Fast forward to 2005, after a few upgrades were done to the state park, researchers were able to track over 200 manatees, and by 2018 the number more than doubled. The waterway remains around 72 degrees all year long and runs alongside the St. Johns River. Guests are also able to explore a hike along the 4.5 mile Pine Island Trail.
